The new buildings of the Limmattal cantonal school are characterised by a well thought-out architectural concept that focuses on sustainability, functionality and quality of stay. The architects at Penzisbettini chose a construction method that combines natural materials such as wood and exposed concrete with generous glass surfaces – for a bright, open feeling of space and a good energy balance.
Syma developed a customised furnishing solution for the natural science collections that fits seamlessly into this architectural concept. Showcases, shelves and cabinets based on untreated aluminium profiles and patented connectors were used, supplemented by sheet metal elements and laminated safety glass. The integrated lighting was realised in close coordination with the lighting designer. The result: functional and aesthetically consistent furnishings that emphasise dismantlability and durability – in keeping with the concept of sustainable construction.
