Special design for experience-orientated history education in museums

The Museum of Prehistory in Zug, Switzerland, exhibits artefacts and stories from over 300,000 years of human history, with a focus on the Zug region. It is particularly well known for its globally significant pile dwelling artefacts from the Neolithic and Bronze Age. Interactive exhibitions and faithful reconstructions bring the past to life and make it tangible for visitors.

For this exhibition, SYMA used specially customised museum display cases that met the high requirements for visibility, dust protection and stability. Thanks to the weighted floor structure with sand, the solution not only impressed in functional terms, but also with its unobtrusive integration into the award-winning exhibition. The true-to-original presentation of the world-famous pile dwelling artefacts was complemented by the individual display case construction in an experience-oriented manner.
