New profile for glass balustrades on multi-story constructions

More and more exhibition venues are tightening requirements on the use of glass balustrades on multi-story exhibition stand constructions.

When glass elements are intended to prevent people from falling from heights, they must be treated as fall-prevention glazing in accordance with DIN 18008 Part 4. For 4-sided balustrade bracing a minimum of laminated safety glass composed of 2x 5mm float glass with a PVB interlayer thickness of 0.76mm is required. Until now this requirement could not be realized with the 8/8mm SYMA system groove. That is why SYMA developed the new adapter profile, which can now easily be slid onto any system groove and locked in place with the set screw. So existing SYMA system materials can continue to be used, and they comply with structural guidelines while retaining their delicate appearance.
